Whether you use it for keeping a diary and blog entries, or for keeping a detailed account of your activity, MacJournal has everything you need.Īt the most basic level, MacJournal works with Journals and Entries. It lets you create, edit and manage journals with a very long list of features and options that range from the mundane to the highly specialized. MacJournal is a dedicate journaling application. Fortunately, such programs are not hard to find and there are a lot of choices out there, but none is as comprehensive as MacJournal. It doesn't matter if you are keeping a diary, or keeping track of meeting for various projects and what was discussed in them, a specialized program will make the task much easier. You need a specialized tool, something that combines files and folders, with date stamps and keywords and links to other entries. However, if you try the same approach to do something such as keeping a log, things start getting messy, fast.

Instead, I wish everything was contained in a single database so I’d only have to manage a single file, instead of several.ĭespite this, Mémoires is super simple, and it’s a great way to get your thoughts and ideas into physical form. Because separate journals are created as containers which sit in your Documents folder, you might have a lot of journals sitting out there.
Mémoires is an incredibly simple application, though sometimes I wish there was an easier way to organize information. By default everything is in Helvetica, so you can expect great looking text no matter where you are. Also available is a simple fullscreen mode that features a convenient exit button. Similar to MacJournal, you can simply drag and drop images, format text, and look up entries via your calendar. The interface is slick, but if you want to access tools, you’re most likely going to do it from the menubar or via keyboard shortcuts.
